Our Mission
Galaxy: International Multidisciplinary Research Journal is a peer-reviewed international open-access eJournal dedicated to advancing scholarly research in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. Founded in 2012, Galaxy has built a consistent record of publishing original, rigorous research that serves scholars from undergraduate through doctoral levels worldwide.
We believe that quality scholarship should be accessible to researchers everywhere. Through our open-access model, we ensure that financial barriers never prevent important ideas from reaching their audience. Every article published in Galaxy is permanently free to read, share, and cite — without paywalls or registration barriers.
Scope & Disciplines
Galaxy’s editorial focus, shaped by thirteen years of continuous publication since 2012, is centred on the Humanities, Social Sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. We welcome original research articles in English across the following areas.

Galaxy publishes peer-reviewed research articles only. All submissions must be written in English. Creative writing, poetry, fiction, book reviews, and author interviews are not accepted.
Outside scope: Purely technical submissions in Engineering, Medical & Clinical Sciences, Agriculture, Architecture, and Pharmacy fall outside the journal’s current editorial scope and will be desk-rejected. Authors from these fields are encouraged to seek a more suitable venue.
Commitment to Quality
Rigorous Peer Review
Every article submitted to Galaxy undergoes double-blind peer review by three independent reviewers. Reviewers evaluate originality, methodology, argument, and scholarly contribution. Review begins as soon as a manuscript is received, and final decisions are sent by the 25th of the issue month.
Editorial Independence
All editorial decisions are made independently by our Editorial Board based solely on academic merit, originality, relevance, and adherence to ethical standards. The publisher does not interfere with editorial judgment.
Publication Ethics
We uphold the highest standards of research integrity. All submissions undergo plagiarism screening. Authors are required to disclose any use of AI-assisted tools. We maintain full transparency in our review processes and handle conflicts of interest with care. Full details are available in our Publication Ethics statement.
Open Access & Licensing
Galaxy operates on the Budapest Open Access Initiative model — all published content is freely and permanently accessible worldwide. Readers may download, share, and cite articles without paywalls or registration. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. Authors retain full copyright.
DOI & Global Indexing
Crossref Membership & DOI Assignment
Galaxy is an official Crossref member journal. From Vol. 15, Issue 2 (2026) onwards, every published article is assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered with Crossref — the world’s leading DOI registration agency for scholarly content.
As a Crossref member, Galaxy registers a permanent DOI for every research article published from Vol. 15, Issue 2 (2026) onwards. The article’s metadata is then openly available to the discovery services, library systems and reference managers that draw on Crossref data.
Publication Frequency
Galaxy is published bi-monthly, in January, March, May, July, September and November. Between 2018 and 2024, some scheduled issues were not published because there were not enough submissions of publishable quality; we do not fill an issue simply to keep to the schedule. All six issues were published in 2025.

What Crossref membership means for authors: Galaxy’s article metadata is openly available to the discovery services, library systems and reference managers that draw on Crossref data. This helps readers find and cite your work, although each service decides independently what it includes. Every article carries a permanent DOI, free of charge for the reader.

Submission is free. The APC is charged only after peer review and formal acceptance — never at submission.

One flat, transparent charge regardless of the number of co-authors. Every APC includes Crossref DOI registration, three-reviewer double-blind peer review, copyediting and formatting, language report, digitally signed publication certificate, and permanent open-access hosting.
Authors based in Research4Life Group A or Group B countries may be eligible for a full or partial waiver. See our APC Waiver Policy.
