Scope of the Journal

Galaxy: International Multidisciplinary Research Journal invites original research articles in English. Galaxy’s editorial focus, shaped by thirteen years of publication since 2012, is centred on the Humanities, Social Sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. We welcome scholarship from the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Education, and interdisciplinary fields.

Galaxy publishes peer-reviewed research articles only. All submissions must be written in English. Creative writing, poetry, fiction, book reviews, and author interviews are not accepted.

Outside scope: Purely technical submissions in Engineering, Medical & Clinical Sciences, Agriculture, Architecture, and Pharmacy fall outside the journal’s current editorial scope and will be desk-rejected. Authors from these fields are encouraged to seek a more suitable venue.

Before You Submit

  • Language: Manuscript must be written entirely in English. Translate all non-English quotations inline.
  • File: Upload a single anonymized .doc/.docx — no author names or affiliations inside the document. Provide author details in the Form fields only.
  • Filename: PaperTitle_Anonymized.docx
  • Title: Times New Roman, 14 pt, Bold — no ALL CAPS.  Body: Times New Roman, 12 pt, justified, single-line spacing.
  • Length: Minimum 3,000 words (typical 3,000–10,000).  Abstract: 100–150 words + 4–6 keywords.
  • Notes: Endnotes only (placed before Works Cited). Citation style: MLA 9th Edition.
  • Originality: Manuscript must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • AI disclosure: If any AI tool assisted in writing or research, disclose this in the Form (tool name, extent of use, limitations).
  • Clean file: Remove tracked changes, comments, and personal metadata before uploading.

How to Submit

Research articles are submitted exclusively via our Google Form. Email submissions are not accepted.

Step 1 — Prepare Your File

Write and proofread your manuscript entirely in English. Prepare a single anonymized .doc/.docx named PaperTitle_Anonymized.docx. Remove all author names, affiliations, and personal metadata from the document and its file properties.

Step 2 — Check the Submission Checklist

Verify formatting (Times New Roman, 12 pt, justified), abstract length (100–150 words), keyword count (4–6), citation style (MLA 9th Edition), and endnote placement before proceeding.

Step 3 — Note the Open Issue

Check the Publication Schedule below. Submissions received after a deadline are automatically considered for the next issue. No resubmission is needed.

Review Process

  • Double-blind peer review — reviewers do not know the author’s identity; authors do not know the reviewers’ identities
  • Three independent reviewers evaluate each manuscript on originality, methodology, argument, and scholarly contribution
  • Decision timeline: 15–20 days after the submission deadline for the relevant issue
  • Possible decisions: Accept | Accept with Minor Revisions | Revise and Resubmit | Reject
  • All decisions are communicated by email to the corresponding author

Authors retain copyright. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. Anyone may share, copy, redistribute, adapt, or build upon the work for any purpose, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal.

By submitting, authors confirm that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under simultaneous consideration at another journal.

Plagiarism & AI Policy

Plagiarism: All manuscripts are checked for plagiarism. Submissions with unacceptable similarity to published works will be rejected without review. Self-plagiarism (reuse of your own previously published text without attribution) is also not permitted.

AI Disclosure: Authors who used AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, or similar) in the preparation of their manuscript must disclose this in the submission form. Disclose the tool name, how it was used, and its limitations. AI tools may not be listed as authors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I submit in a language other than English?

No. Galaxy is an international English-language journal. All submissions must be written entirely in English, including abstracts, keywords, and Works Cited. Non-English quotations must be translated inline.

What disciplines does Galaxy cover?

Galaxy’s editorial focus is centred on the Humanities, Social Sciences, and interdisciplinary studies — including Arts, Literature, History, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Commerce, Management, Education, and interdisciplinary fields. Purely technical submissions in Engineering, Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Architecture, and Pharmacy fall outside the journal’s scope and will be desk-rejected.

Is there a submission fee?

No. Submission is free. The APC (₹2,595 / $125) is charged only after peer review and formal acceptance. You will never be asked to pay before acceptance.

How long does the review process take?

Authors typically receive a decision within 15–20 days after the submission deadline for the relevant issue. The review is conducted by three independent reviewers under double-blind conditions.

Can I submit a co-authored paper?

Yes. Provide all co-author details in the submission form. The APC is a flat rate regardless of the number of co-authors.

What happens after acceptance?

You receive an acceptance email with APC payment instructions, a Grammarly report for final polishing, and a request for your final manuscript. On publication, you receive the live article link, your Crossref DOI, and an official digitally signed PDF publication certificate.

What is a Crossref DOI and why does it matter?

A Crossref DOI is a permanent digital identifier assigned to your article. It makes your work permanently citable, discoverable across academic databases, and fully integrated with the global scholarly infrastructure. Galaxy is an official Crossref member journal — your DOI prefix is 10.66376/galaxy.

I missed the deadline. What happens?

Your submission is automatically considered for the next issue. There is no need to resubmit.

Can I withdraw my submission?

Yes — before a decision is communicated. Email editor@galaxyimrj.com with your Manuscript ID and subject: Withdrawal Request: [Your Manuscript ID].
